2012 R2 -- Suggestions where to start? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have some basic management and working knowledge of Server 2003 day in/out. I have otherwise little experience with servers and software/enterprise environments. Looking to upgrade to 2012 R2 Standard soon. What courses in the virtual academy will help give me a basic foundation to learn the tougher stuff -- active directory, DNS, server management, etc?

I started watching "What's New in Windows Server 2012 R2 Jump Start" and the two hosts suggested I already have a working knowledge of 2012, Active Directory, and some other server management stuff before diving into this course and the latter ones. I feel like I could have better understanding of those concepts! I looked a little bit at "Windows Server 2012 Essentials" which seemed to have some very basic and practical knowledge, but focused on Essentials not standard version. I was hoping to find this basic video focused on standard and basic server concepts.

    So where do I start?

    Thanks!
