CRM 2013 and ADFS RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is it possible to install ADFS on a server after CRM 2013 has already been installed there?

I understand that ADFS runs on the default website, but this appears to have been taken by a site named CRM Redirect, which just redirects access made to the unsecure CRM website to the secure version.

The issue I've got is that I can't get the IFD Deployment console to accept the /FederationMetadata/200706/FederationMetadata.xml URL, and if I try to access it manually, it comes back with a 404.

I have tried the usual repair of the URL ReWrite module, and there are no errors when running NETSH HTTP SHOW URLACL.

I'm beginning to think that because CRM was installed prior to ADFS, that we're sort of stuck. Unless there is a workaround?

    Anyone?

    Thanks

  • As long as CRM was not installed on the default website, then it is perfectly possible to install ADFS on the same server after installing CRM.

My guess is the problem lies with the 'CRM Redirect' on the default website - this is non-standard, and I'd suggest asking whoever installed it why it's there

  • If your CRM is not installed on 80 port, then it is ok to install ADFS later.

Once you mentioned /FederationMetadata/200706/FederationMetadata.xml URL, does it the CRM auth url meta data url or the ADFS metadata url?

Most likely is the DNS for these urls, please check if it is able to parse it. You can try to ping these urls, see if the IP is correct or not.
