    I bought Office Student and Teacher Edition 2003 when I was a student on the white market from a certified Microsoft reseller.

    Now Microsoft is saying my version is not genuine.

  • Hello lazarcw,

    Here is a snippet of your mgadiag report:

    OGA Data-->
    Office Status: 114 Blocked VLK 2
    Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 - 114 Blocked VLK 2
    OGA Version: Registered, 2.0.48.0

    Office Diagnostics: 77F760FE-153-80070002_7E90FEE8-175-80070002_025D1FF3-230-1

    Note that the currently installed Office edition is not Office Student and Teacher 2003.  It is a nongenuine, widely pirated volume licensing installation of Office Professional Edition 2003.

    My guess would be that somewhere along the line, your Student and Teacher installation of Office was replaced with the nongenuine installation of Office Professional 2003.  This has been known to happen when repair shops or well meaning friends use downloaded copies of pirated software to do a repair or reinstallation of Microsoft software.

    You should be able to correct the problem by uninstalling Office from the Add or Remove Programs applet of Control Panel, restart twice, then use your Office Student and Teacher 2003 discs and Product Key to do a fresh installation.

  • Thank you.

    Though I'm not sure that's what happened.

  • Yes, there was a copy of Office 2003 Professional.

    Yes, I went to Control Panel>Add/Remove, I selected Office 2003 Professional and clicked remove.  BUT the diagnostic said I needed a source disk and aborted the remove.

    What do I do?
