cannot use express backup RRS feed

    When performing express backup, after inserting correct disc operation fails. States program running preventing backup.

    Any thoughts? No other programs are running.

  • If you have another CD/DVD burning program or suite installed, make sure that the option for using the blank CD/DVD as a removable disk is not installed. In Nero, this is InCD. In Roxio, it is called DirectCD. If these are installed, no other burning software can function.

    Thank you for visiting the OneCare Program forums.

     

    Open up task manager by right clicking on the Taskbar and clicking Task Manager while this is occurring and sort by highest CPU usage. This will give you a good indication of what is taking up the CPU while backup is running.

     

    Please post with three or four of the highest cpu usage.  If you can recognize the program, you may need to disable

    services of the program.  It may also be the disk drive you are using as the backup device.  Check to make sure that

    the latest drivers are being used for the backup device or if something else is accessing the disk drive.
