Cannot conference - ID:3098

    Question

  •

I've seen a couple of posts on this subject, but despite working through the suggestions am still having this error.

When trying to do a 3 (or more) party IM/call/video we receive an error that the conference can't be started (ID:3098).

Looking on the OCS server we receive the following event log error:-

    Event ID : 32065

Failed to send C3P request to Mcu. Conferencing requests for this Mcu type will be retried but if this error continues to occur conferencing functionality will be affected.

    Mcu Url: https://yy.xx.com:444/LiveServer/MCUFactory/

    Resolution:

Ensure that the Mcu is provisioned and functioning correctly. If any network related errors are reported by the Mcu ensure that they are resolved.

For more information, see Help and Support Center

I've followed the previous threads relating to this (talking about too many certs on the server or IIS browse permissions), but so far none of those have helped.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

We managed to resolve this by using external certificates and changing the primary ceriticate name from the pool name to the servername.

when i validated the webconference role in the OCS MMC i got a lot of error's stating the I need to check the certificates.
I checked all certificates on the server and they where all fine.

Just to be sure i re-selected the certificate for the web conference server.
    1. Under Forest/domains/domain-name.nl/Standard Edition Servers/Servername/servername.domainname.nl. Right click the server en select "Properties"
    2. Then "Web Cconference Properties".
    3. Go to the "Certificate tab" en click Select Certificate. Select the certificate (be sure to select the right one!! I had more then one certificate to choose from) en click OK.
    4. click OK again en try having a conference with you're Communicator it should work now.
