Your system is at SP2 level - when was the last time you updated?
I ask, because the 0x80072f0d error is an 'invalid certificate' error - it may be that you need to update the Root Certificates from Windows Updates before the process will complete.
Where did you get the download for WMP11 from? There are different WMP11 download packages for different target machines.
are you saying that the download site won't validate you?

Try going to the Validation site, and attempting to validate Windows....
    what happens?
If it fails, go to the Validation Diagnostics, and see what it has to say - it should advise on remedial actions you can take....

Post back with the responses, and a new report

BTW, your Office Enterprise installation is showing as using a Blocked Volume License Key - one that was actually issued to MS itself before it was leaked to the internet, and blocked. You need to install a valid version if you intend to use it, or at least uninstall the current one if not.

  • i don't recall the last time i updated my windows, i will try that right now and come back to post my results after that.

i tried downloading the wmp from the microsoft site: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=1d224714-e238-4e45-8668-5166114010ca

i validated my windows and it says it is genuine.

i still went to the diagnose tool and the office validation activex loaded says Falied, the tool tells me to enable activex from the info bar which i did and then retried several time but i still get the same error on the office validation activex.

i checked the addons and they all show enabled.

Don't worry too much about the Office part of the diagnosis - OGA has 'gone the way of all things'. I suspect that it is a result of whatever it was that someone used to install the counterfeit Office Enterprise on your system.
Having said that, it may be that this is the issue that is causing your problem - something blocking some ActiveX installs while letting others through.
What AV are you using (Norton or McAfee by any chance?)?
    Which version?

If you're attempting the download from behind your company's firewall, it could be blocked for the same reason that WU is blocked - because they want control of PC's on their network - and you shouldn't be messing with them :)
Have you tried downloading WMP at home?
Ask your System Admin if he has a SP3 download/install disk you can borrow to install SP3 - then do the updates when at home, and install WMP there as well.
