Win 7 Build 7600 This copy of Windows is not genuine message

Question
-
I have a Dell E520 that was running XP. I purchased (online) what appears to be a genuine Win 7 Professional copy (in MS box with hologram cds for 32 & 64 bit) with its own product key and installed it. I have not installed this OS on any other computer. 9 months later I suddenly have a black desktop and Build 7600 This copy of Windows is not genuine message.
I have put in the key again and tried to activation link but it makes no difference. I am considering a complete reinstall...
Can you help?

Oh Dear! :(You broke a cardinal rule of software purchasing - know the seller before buying! You were sold a counterfeit copy of Windows 7 using an MSDN Key which has now been blocked by MS for abuse. MSDN Keys cannot be sold, except together with the whole MSDN subscription. After this length of time, I suspect that your vendor is long gone (hopefully languishing in a jail somewhere) - but you could try claiming a refund from them - do NOT accept a replacement key, as it will almost certainly go the same way as the first. You then need to acquire a genuine copy of Win 7 (do you really need Pro?)Please read the following two stickies for more detailshttp://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinewindows7/thread/a2444f34-0aff-4f29-a8ac-67e28b0c0285http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinewindows7/thread/06698c46-8668-4ccd-a544-a88969265a6b
