Calling a workflow from code - including input parameters for custom activity RRS feed

  • Question

  • Greetings,

I would like to call a workflow (already registered on the org) from code as described here:

    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg309600.aspx

but would like to pass input parameters for the custom workflow activity included in the first step of the workflow - preferably without having to build the workflow with XML in the code.

Is there any way to do this?  A link would suffice - Bing search is failing me :)

  • Correct me if I am wrong, but the input parameters for a custom workflow activity are already defined inside the workflow (also if they are coming from the record selected to execute the workflow, the EntityId parameter)

Which additional parameters you are trying to set?

  • A workflow process cannot take input parameters. However, if you are using Crm 2013, then you could create an Action that has input parameters, and can pass them to the custom workflow activity. You can then call the Action via the Execute method
