Problem with email after installing IE8 RRS feed

    I use Window Live Hotmail for my email. After installing IE8, when I click on the mail icon in the toolbar, it goes to MSN Explorer. I have tried changing the selections in the "tools....internet options....programs" to all of the other selections and I still get the MSN Explorer window. How can this be fixed? I did not have this problem when I installed IE8 on my laptop.
