CRM 2016 ONLINE - EMAIL: difficulties setting up the FROM email address RRS feed

  • Greetings,

    I am experiencing difficulties setting up the FROM of the email activity that I'm trying to send using a plugin.

    First I tried setting up the activityparty using the contact entity. My code ran just fine but the email could not be sent.
    Then I replace the contact entity by the systemuser entity but I have issues with the roles that this user needs to have.

    Does anyone know what are the limitations regarding the FROM activityparty.

  • Hi Frank,

    I very much doubt that you can have a contact as sender on an email. The from activity party can only be a team or a user AFAIK, the user or team needs to have the email address confirmed and you must have an outgoing email profile set up either email router, server side sync or outlook.

    What sort of errors do you get?
