IE8 cannot view forums RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

On a couple workstations, I'm unable to view either of the following sites:

    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-us/categories
    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/categories

When I navigate to those pages, all I get is a blank page with a header that looks something like:

United States (English)|Microsoft.com|William Fields Sign out

This has been going on for a number of months.

Just today, I changed the "compatibility view settings" on one system (Server 2008 R2 with IE8) to NOT display all websites in compatibility view... and now the forums work.

But on my other system (WinXP Pro with IE8), turning off compatiblity view did not fix the problem.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.
    Bill

  • You haven't truly given us much to go on. Are you able to use the browser succesfully on other addresses on the net? How about other Microsoft addresses?

  • I appologize for the limited info.

It is the strangest thing, the only place I'm having issues, and it's not consistent across all my workstations is while browsing the social.*.microsoft.com sites.

To answer your question though, yes, IE8 works everywhere else I typically visit, including Microsoft.com addresses.

    Thanks.
