Active Directory, get logged in user's information RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

My company uses active directory accounts to log into the workstations and I'm trying to create a web app that will display the current user's information.  In the past I have just passed a service account (that had read prevs on the network)'s username and password to do this and all was good, but now we are moving to CAC (Common Access Cards) and moving away from usernames and passwords.  My service account is still here, but there has been talk about making them CAC'd too, which would mean that I couldn't use it's name and password to read active directory.

My question is this:  Is there any way that I can pull the current logged on user's AD token in a .aspx page and use it to query AD?  None of the users have passwords so I can't prompt for them, or I would just do that.

    Thank you!
