CRM 2011 AssignRequest

In CRM 2011, when issuing an AssignRequest it assigns the entity (Incident) to the correct person, however it seems to update all the 'Annotations' (Notes) also, and shows 'Edited By NEW USER ASSIGNED TO' whenever the 'AssignRequest' code was run?
Is there any way to stop this from happening?

The fact that the notes have been assinged as well is due to the cascading rules on the relationship between the incident and notes, and it should be possible to change this.

'Edited By NEW USER ASSIGNED TO' sounds like something specific to your environment, and may be created by a workflow rule
