TechNet Article: Can I upload source code/Sample Project? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello everybody,

I was thinking about creating a technical article on some development stuff, including description and sample source code.

I would like to ask if TechNet wiki is the best place to do this and if that is the case, how can I upload the sample code? I looked over the instructions of the TechNet wiki, but I couldn't find something concerning uploading source code etc.

    Thank you in advance,

    Pavlos

  • Hi Livio,

thank you for your reply. My question is mostly related to the uploading of source code, i.e. a sample VS Project, so that readers of the article can test the code out and see for themselves what I'm describing.

I'm asking this, because I read in the instructions that one can't attach any files to the article.

    Greetings,

    Pavlos

  • Try the gallery.   Wiki is more for news type articles, text codes only, no attachments.   Gallery allows you to attach files.

  • Ok,

thanks, I just thought the gallery was more like a place to upload "ready-to-use"-tools etc. and not VS sample projects.

    Pavlos

  • You can do a combination actually :)

Make a wiki article discussing your topic and refer to the sample code you provide in the gallery. beside the technet gallery which mostly focuses on scripts, theres also a gallery for samples on the msdn site: http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/

    Hello Florian,

thanks for the info. I will use the MSDN site for the sample code.
