Office Communications Server 2007 and ISDN card RRS feed

  • Question

I'm looking for good ISDN Card with one E1 port and echo cancalation that can work with Office Communications Server 2007. If anyone can help me I will be grateful.

And second question about ip telephones. I picked cisco 7931g and 7940g. Does it work with Communications Server over sip ?

    Thank You

  • There is not currently a supported card that you can plug into an OCS Meditation server.  However, I have heard of successful implementations with Dialogic media cards.  As a supported alternative you might consider a hybrid gateway, which is basically a Mediation server and media gateway in a single appliance.

As for your second question, you cannot use SIP phones to register with and communicate through OCS directly.  Only Communicator Phone Edition devices are capable of this.

  • Hello,

    1. please check my suggestion Calling over ISDN, but read also carefully the warnings.

    2. you can use SIP Phones! The genius guys @ snom technology AG, Berlin made it.

They developed the first open standard SIP phone that can register and communicate through OCS directly. (Press Release: May 26th, 2008 )

    Please look at http://www.snom.com

or look at youtube for snom ocs edition! http://de.youtube.com/watch?v=Q6CkLVQ2c30

The snom ocs edition is really a limit breaker! The complete 3xx series is now OCS-enabled, simply with a firmware update.

Maybe it will become the "Uber-Tanjay"

SIPoverTCP, TLS, NTLM, SRTP, etc. - they cut the Gordian knot, without lowering security @OCS !

    Best regards,
