Cisco ASA and WDS working with different subnets RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have an issue with WDS providing PXE services to different subnets.

    Config is as follows:

Cisco ASA 5505 on all remote offices.
    Acting as DHCP server.
Centrally located WDS, working in a MDT 2012 setup.

PXE forward created with iphelper, pointing towards Cisco ASA (option 150)
(dhcpd option 150 ip x.x.x.x interface inside)

    Problem:
When located on the same subnet as the WDS is located, this forward of PXE works like a charm.
But when trying to reach the PXE service from a remote office (all offices connected with Cisco site-to-site-VPN), having different subnet, we get no response from the WDS.
We are using the same PXE forward on all sites.

Is there a limitation for the WDS to not provide PXE response across subnets?
If not, anyone have an idea of how to solve this issue?

We have MDT 2012 setup to ease the computer installations, and it will not be as efficient if we need all machines to be sent to main office for installation.
Would be much better if PXE service would work across subnets.

    Thoughts much appretiated.

    Best regards

    Micke
