Vista 64 bit support

Question

Does anyone know if there is a way to use WHS on a computer that has Vista Home premium 64 bit ? I tried to load it and it just says WHS does not support 64 bit. Aren't Vista and Windows home server made by the same company ? Shouldn't I be able to order a 64 bit compatible version ?

Doug,
Yes, WHS supports Vista 64bit.
It's only the connector software that needs to be installed on the Vista Client computer and the latest version includes support. The original release of WHS didn't have 64bit support, but this was added with PowerPack One, which was released some time ago.
If you have just bought an OEM copy, you will need to install this on your server, then perform all the updates from Microsoft. This will then provide the updated Connector software which will then be available for installation. This is in place of the CD version that is included in the bought package.

After all the updates are done on the server, you will find the updated 64 bit connector software on the server under software and then windows home server connector.Originally WHS did not support 64-bit but they have updated it and now it does. That's why your original disk that you are probably using does not work.
