Create process for adding entity due dates to calendar? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is it relatively easy to create a process so that when a due date is entered for an entity, a process is triggered that automatically creates an item on the owners calendar on the same date as the due date, as a reminder that the item is due?  By relatively easy, I mean is this something I can accomplish myself with a process, without requiring any custom coding?

    Thanks

  • Hi David,

Yes, this is straight forward and doesn't need custom code. Your workflow pseudo-code would look something like this (trigger on create and change of the due date field)

    IF <due date> contains data

         Timeout until <due date> then (click 'local values' > process > timeout > equals > <due date>)

Create appointment (ensure the start and end time are populated with your due date/time)

                Assign appointment to record owner

                     end suceeded

    Otherwise end - cancelled
