CRM 2011 E-mail Router Cannot Load Data RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

Anyone can help the issue on Microsoft Dynamic CRM 2011 E-mail Router?

The issue is encountered since couple of days ago, Initially we have configured the CRM  E-mail router successfully and was working properly.

We use the CRM E-mail router for the purpose of outgoing email only. The user configured in E-mail router has sufficient privilege and it is administrator right.

The CRM application server and the E-mail router are deployed on same server. Here are the detail error message when I press ‘Load Data’ from E-mail configuration(It was working fine previously).

The E-mail Router service could not process a provider work item using assembly: Microsoft.Crm.Tools.EmailProviders.dll and class: Microsoft.Crm.Tools.Email.Providers.SmtpPollingSendEmailProvider. System.InvalidOperationException: Metadata contains a reference that cannot be resolved: 'http://<crmserverip>/<orgname>/XRMServices/2011/Organization.svc?wsdl'. ---> System.Net.WebException: The remote server returned an error: (403) Forbidden.

  • Is the account running the email router service in the privUserGroup in AD?  You could try changing the account running the email router service to network service, and restart the router to see if this helps.

Is the user account configured in the router a user in CRM with the sys admin security role?

Have you made any changes in the deployment manager such as enabling claims or IFD?

  • Thanks for your suggestion Jason,

The account running the E-mail router service has system administrator role and under privUserGroup. No changes made in deployment manager.

The E-mail router was running properly under this system admin account since last year, suddenly throw error recently.

  • You should also confirm that the organization name is correct.  The name is case sensitive in the router.  If you look in CRM under system settings and developer resources, you will see the org name in its proper case.  Don't rely on what you see in the browser URL.

Is the account running the email router a local admin on the server?

Does the router work on another org?  This will help isolate the cause to just the profile for this org or something bigger.

You can try recreating the systemState.xml file to see if that helps.  Sometimes it gets corrupted over time.

    1. Delete
           the Microsoft.Crm.Tools.EmailAgent.SystemState.xml file.
      By default,
the Microsoft.Crm.Tools.EmailAgent.SystemState.xml file is in the
            following folder:

                  C:\Program Files\Microsoft CRM Email\Service
      • By default,
the Service folder is a hidden folder. To see this folder, you must
change the Windows Explorer settings to display hidden files and hidden
    1. Restart
the Microsoft Dynamics CRM E-mail Router Service.

                The Microsoft.Crm.Tools.EmailAgent.SystemState.xml file is

  • Hi Eric,

Please check whether user(account) with which email router service is running is locked out?
