Cant launch any program on my computer RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi everybody!

Im getting an error every time i try to start a program on my computer "The application failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect" it started earlier today when my computer crashed, when i logged back in it gave me the error above for several programs that auto launch with my pc.

Ive googled the problem but the solutions dont seem to work, "sfc /scannow" it returns an error "Windows resource protection could not perform the requested operation" (I cmd as admin and im logged in to the only admin account on my pc)

The Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 doesnt seem to be working and i cant uninstall it or run the installer for it either

    Thanks in advanced!

I realized it would be easier to get some help if i what exactly i had tried, and posted a sfc log.

    What i have tried:

Regedit - Edited the side by side entry (It was correct)

sfc /scannow - always failes at 48% regardless if your in safe mode

Error Checking on C drive - It finds loads of error, asks me to restart to fix them. Restart "Fix" them, the error are still there after boot. (Ive done is a few times)

Ive tried the things above in safe mode as well but the results dont change.

I also got in contact with one from the MS support team who directed me to use the DISM tool, however it did not fix my problem.

        DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth - The component store is repairable.
        The operation completed successfully.

        DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth - Error: 0x800f081f

The source files could not be found.
Use the "Source" option to specify the location of the files that are required to restore the feature.                                     For more information on specifying a source location, see
