ASP.NET session states and Network Load Balancing servers for MS-CRM(Dynamics 4) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,
We're setting up our systems using Network Load Balancing servers for MS-CRM(Dynamics 4) and MS-SharePoint 2010 running under IIS7 on Windows Server 2k8 R2. We have come to a problem regarding the preservation of ASP.NET session states for these load-balanced machines.
We would like the best-practise suggestions for how to set this up.
A couple of suggestions that we have come accross are:
    1. Set the affinity to single on the load balanced cluster
    2. Install an aspnet database on a SQL server which would hold the session data so it's not tied to a particular host.
    More details are here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc781149(WS.10).aspx
Would you be able to suggest what would be our best option and why?
    Many thanks
