Install MS Dynamics CRM 2011 from command line failing -- Pending Reboot post .NET 4 installed RRS feed

  • Question

  • We're trying to automate the deployment of CRM 2011 and I've hit a bit of a snag.

The installer goes ahead and installs .NET 4 but then it fails because it needs a reboot.

Is it actually possible to force a reboot post .net 4 install?

I've set the reboot attribute in the config file to true, but I suspect this is to reboot the server once CRM 2011 is installed not for the pre-requisites.

The obvious alternative would be to install .NET 4.0 first and then run the installer, but i'd like to avoid this option if possible.

    any ideas?

    Did you try this ..

    1. Run CRM setup

    2. CRM setup Installs .net framework 4

    3. Prompts for reboot

    4. close crm setup

    5. reboot

    6. After reboot, start crm setup again
