Build 7600 - Not Genuine (Not booting) RRS feed

  • Question

  • I recently purchased a computer and system build, and upon turning the computer on it will not go past "Windows Starting" and then display the following error on the bottom right corner, and then not progress any further.

    Windows 7

    Build 7600

This copy of Windows is not genuine

    That's it.

The computer boots and gives me the BIOS screen.

    Then continues to "Windows Starting..."

    And finishes with the error.

What can I do to fix this? It's a brand new computer.

  • Hello Vociferate,

Was Windows installed on the computer when you purchased the computer?

Does the computer have a Certificate of Authenticity for the version and edition of Windows installed?

If the seller sold you the computer like this, and your understanding was that the computer is supposed to have a Genuine installation of Windows on it as part of the transaction, then you did not get what you paid for.  Do the same thing you would do with any other local business that took your money but did not deliver the promised goods and/or services.
