Bulk delete menu items missing? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'd like to bulk delete a bunch of Contact records that I've imported.  I found the following very nice blog post describing how to do this in several ways:

    http://blogs.msdn.com/crm/archive/2008/04/24/bulk-record-deletion-in-microsoft-crm-online.aspx

The trouble is, I don't have the menu items described in the post.  I'm logged in to CRM as a system administrator.  CRM is at version 4.0.7333.3.  I go to the imports page, select my import, click "More Actions", all I have is "Sharing", no "Delete Imported Records".  I go to all contacts, click "More Actions", no "Bulk Delete" option.

Is there some config setting I need to set in order to enable bulk delete?  Any clues?

    Thanks very much!

  • Currently the out of the box bulk record delete function is only available on Microsoft CRM Online.

  • Gary,

What you can do is click the 'Import' button on the navigation bar, then open the Import record you had. You may find there is a 'Contact Created' navigation bar on the left, click it then delete the contacts it included.

    Cheers,

    Jim

  • Right, I was trying to avoid deleting all of these manually (as there were many pages).  I went ahead and did it that way, but I'm still curious as to why these bulk delete menu items aren't showing up.

    Thanks!
