Computer not responding after video card installation. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I just installed a new video card (ASUS HD 7750) in my HP Elite Pavilion HPE-130f.  I also changed the power supply to a 600-Watt ATX Corsair Builder Series to meet the video card standards of at least 400w.  After turning the computer on, it won't respond to simple processes (open My Computer, Start Menu, Task Manager, etc.)  After after 2 minutes it becomes completely unresponsive.  It wont even shut down.  The computer works fine in Safe Mode and I've even restarted the computer with all of the unnecessary drivers disabled.  Still nothing.  I'm running two different versions of Windows (Windows 8 and Windows 7).  Windows 8 works fine, although it did tell me I had a memory problem (that I corrected by swapping the memory completely), Windows 7, not at all.  No peripherals connected to the computer besides keyboard and mouse.  The video card driver installed correctly after swapping the memory.

    Please help.
