Having problem when installing XP in a notebook where "IDE HDD" should be "SATA HDD" RRS feed

  • Question

  • I bought Lenovo 300 C200 notebook with Windows Vista in only one partition with Fujitsu SATA HDD (MHV2120BH).

Because I want to have different partitions on HD, I deleted the original partition, and created four partitions. But what is happening is that when I've tried to install XP Pro (original) on the first partition, XP crashed after being created temp folder on my first partition with the error:

    *** pci.sys - Address F76130BF base at F760C000, DateStamp 3b7d855c"

I have contacted PhoenixBIOS, Lenovo and Fujitsu tech support and they cannot solve my problem.

I read that I need BIOS upgrate for supporting SATA HD and XP.

I have done everything from pressing F6 (XP ask me for diskette when notebooks don't have it) or updating BIOS.

    Can anybody help me?

    I would really appreciate it.
