I am trying to delete two folders from my C drive. One of the folders, named Windows.old.000 is 11GB in size; the other folder named Windows.old.001 is roughly 10GB. As you can see, due to past system recovery experiences there are two addditional copies of windows and if not just for clearing space, I would like to delete these. However, even after taking ownership and setting permissions accordingly to whomever is logged on, I still get access denied error message. I made sure the recycle bend properties were set to immediately delete as I know that has a volume restriction. One strange thing I noticed was that these folders are "read only" and I'm not sure if this is part of the issue or no? What else do I need to do?
Hi,
I believe you are posting in the wrong forum. This is the Windows Home Server forum and this is Windows Vista issue i.e. client side.
However, this issue you need to resolve is discussed in this KB:
