I need a restore disk for Gateway Notebook RRS feed

  • I have a Gateway 4530GZ Notebook with HP Home.  It will not boot past the Win XP logo.  I can get it to boot in safe mode and I can restore it to an earlier date, and have done so to 5 different dates.  But it still will not boot.  I have decided that nothing will work to get it to boot though I'm confused why it will boot with network ect.  I am writing this email from it.  I no longer have my recovery disks. If I could get sound and get the printer drivers to work I would be just fine I would just stay in safe mode.  I can't get the Gateway website to recognize my serial number or I would just have them send me a new set.  I have a copy of XP pro from my HP desktop but my notebook won't allow me to use it as it says it is an older version.  Can I just borrow a copy of XP and use my XP product code I have that on the underside of the notebook.
