Track outbound e-mails RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is there anyway to track e-mails sent from Outlook to CRM Contacts?

All of our users have Outlook and the CRM Plugin installed.

-EDIT- I am looking for an automated method.

  • So I believe that I have a solution, but I have not tested it becuase we decided not to automaticly track outbound e-mails.

However, using excahnge 2007 you can enable Journliing for the entire server which will send all e-mails, in and out, to a mailbox of your choice.

  • The 'track in CRM' button will create a record of the email in CRM and link it to the contact if it matches the email address. Otherwise you can 'set regarding' to the contact.

  • In user options you can set tracking for all emails, this, I believe, autosets the track in CRM option.
