  • It is indeed an MSDN product key.  If you purchased through eBay simply use the resolution center and you can use your report as proof.  eBay has had thousands of these Chinese made counterfeits.  So has Amazon about sellers in their Marketplace.  You should have no problem.  I didn't.  If you bought from a discount website you may have trouble getting your money back.

    Stick to the Microsoft Store or Amazon Corp for Windows and Office.

  • Ask PayPal.  "Someone" ususally doesn't know what "he" is talking about.  Anyway, no one from Microsoft can give a binding answer in a forum.  There is no way to inspect evidence.  If you purchased on eBay then you file with eBay, not PayPal.  Same with Amazon.
