  • Question

  • Hi Guys,

Is it possible to set a field value to the product of values in two other fields , using Business Rule ?

like Value of Field 'A' must be set to (Value of Field 'B')  * (Value of Field 'C').

Note : Fields are not of type - Money

    Thanks ,

    Naveen

  • Hi Naveen,

That's not possible using Business Rule. You will have to use custom JavaScipt/Plugin.

  • Hi,

    Thanks for the Reply.

Client Obligation is to use only OOB feature to achieve this , is it possible ?

Or Customization is the only way ?

    Thanks,

    Naveen

  • Hi,

If you want to set field A(Total Amt) = (field b(Actual Revenue) * field c(ASM Revenue)).. then try this..

  • Hi Naveen,

If the fields are text fields, there's no way to do that using OOB Business Rules. But if they are decimal, floating point, etc. you can do that using Business Rules (Formula).

  • Hi Dynamotion ,

    Thanks for the reply.

    The two fields - B & C are Option Sets.Field 'A' is a whole number.

  • Hi Naveen,

Unfortunately using Business Rules is not possible for your case. And since your B and C fields are option sets, Dynamics CRM would restrict that using workflows as well.
