  • Validation Incomplete

The validation service is unable to determine whether this copy of Windows Vista is genuine.

This is a retail version.  And I already validated it quite a few months back.  The only thing that might have affected things were lenovo bios and software updates.

    any ideas?   Thanks

  • Hello user,

It appears that Vista needs to be re-activated.

It is common for a bios update to trigger a reactivation even.  You can try Activating over the Internet or, if that fails, try the Activate by Phone steps (below).

    1) Click the 'Start' button
    2) Type: slui 4
    3) Hit the 'Enter' key
    4) Select your location and follow the directions thru the rest of the Activation Wizard

    Thank you,
    Darin MS
