Can I re-format windows xp without a cd? RRS feed

  • I have a desktop with windows xp, the company i brought it from didn't send a windows xp cd with it, I want to re-format the pc is it possible to do that ? thanks in advance.

    The company is legally obliged to provide a means of reinstalling Windows - please check your manual to see what method they use.
    It could be either a Recovery partition, or the ability to create your own set of disks for reinstall (or both)
    If for some reason this is no longer available to you, you will need to contact the company, which may provide a set of disks for you - at a price.
