Office 2010 Student / Home Version, validation failure RRS feed

  • Question

  • Office 2010 Student - installed, validated, continued to ask for validation every day of the last two or three.

Today, reports no validation, will not run. Have DVD in my possession, purchased from Staples.

  • Actually, let me advise, in correction to my post, that Office is reporting a verification failure, "a repair attempt failed or was canceled by user" is part of the message after I entered the product key for the umpteenth time.

  • Hello Paul R Gormley,

My suggestion would be to completely uninstall Office 2010, restart twice, then do a fresh installation.

Use the MS FixIt utility in this MS KB article to uninstall the current broken installation of Office 2010:  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/en-us

Post back to let us know how it's going :-)

  • On a cold restart, it again asked for my validation code and it's running now - have faith, it will fail again and when it does, I will report back on my progress, thanks for the response!

  • Back, problem has returned. Wants the serial number re-entered, then shut down all apps to "apply" the validation, verification, whatever.Suggestions?
