  • Firstly ,I think It is very good to do a suvery to give your choice of your career before.
However ,you must give your choice ,not rely on other's answers .

Both include wiki and blog sites.  There doesn't seem to be a significant different between WSS and MOSS in this area.  MOSS builds on WSS by adding both core features as well as end user web parts to it.So ,IN my opinion ,you can purse Moss .When you get Moss ,in my opinion ,it was very easy for you to understand WSS.

Besides ,I agree with Charles's words :"YOU need to do your own research on that to see what the industries local to you are utilizing".If  Wss is on your local market ,you can study WSS firstly ,some day there is a need to study Moss ,it also will be very easy for you to study Moss.

Finally ,you can give your choice .
Hope my answer useful for u

  • You might want to start by taking a look at the info on the various Sharepoint Server certifications on Microsoft Learning's website.  There are four separate MCTS certifications you can pursue, depending upon your skill level and such.

  • Hi, what Maryloveus wrote and you wrote I have seen the links but I am still confused and don’t know how to start. I initially wrote about my profile and my experience now I more tell about what I read the share point links.

There are two main certification regarding share point .

    1.      WSS (windows sharepoint services 3.0)

    1. MOSS(Microsoft Office share point server)

Above both have application and configuration  certifications. Now I don’t know from above two which I should do.

The bottom line is which has more job market and more specifically which has more Dollars as salary  :p J

  • It's almost impossible to predict which has more "job market appeal" and which would provide a higher salary.  Note that Sharepoint is HIGLY specialized - meaning there are very few that are fully conversant in it.  I'd suggest doing a search to see what companies/markets use Sharepoint, and from there which path to pursue.

  • YOU need to do your own research on that to see what the industries local to you are utilizing.  Having knowledge in either will be beneficial.
