  • Hello rusty elevator,

    Here is a snippet of your mgadiag report:

    OGA Data-->
    Office Status: 114 Blocked VLK 2
    Microsoft Publisher 2002 - 100 Genuine
    Microsoft Office XP Professional with FrontPage - 114 Blocked VLK 2
    Microsoft Outlook 2002 - 100 Genuine
    OGA Version: Registered, 2.0.48.0

    Your installation of Microsoft Office XP Professional with FrontPage is a nongenuine installation.  It is not an OEM installation, which is what it would have been if preinstalled on your computer by Dell.  It is a volume licensing installation that was done with a widely pirated and now-Blocked Volume Licensing Key.  Volume Licensing Keys are blocked by Microsoft when the original owner of the Key reports to Microsoft that they key has been lost, stolen, or compromised to the internet, or blocked by Microsoft if it notices an abuse of the Key, as in many more installations using the Key that originally authorized.  Keys are also Blocked when the relevant Volume Licensing Agreement is ended.

    Normally, legitimate users of Volume Licensing editions of Office are associated with larger business, educational, or governmental organizations.  If that's you, please contact your organization's IT support staff for further assistance.

    If your use of this installation of Microsoft Office XP Professional with FrontPage is not associated with a larger business, educational, or governmental organization, and you purchased the installed copy of Microsoft Office XP Professional with FrontPage thinking that it was a retail license to be sold to individual consumers, it is likely that you are a victim of software piracy or counterfeiting.  As an individual consumer, you should never have been sold Volume Licensing (VL) materials such as the VL installation CD, and you certainly should not have received a Blocked Product Key for Microsoft Office XP Professional with FrontPage.  You should have been sold Genuine retail licensed software.

    If so, your first course of action is to confront your seller with this information and demand either a full refund or to receive the genuine software you paid for.

    If the seller refuses to help, please file a piracy report at www.microsoft.com/piracy.  Also, depending upon whether you received "high quality" counterfeit materials, you may qualify for the Office Complimentary Offer or for the Office Genuine Advantage discounted offer.  Please see the FAQ here:  http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/downloads/FAQ.aspx?displaylang=en#ID0EKNAC  If you think that you qualify for the Genuine Office Offer, apply for the Offer thru the Learn More Online link that the OGA Notifier is displaying.

    Your installation of Microsoft Publisher 2002 is also a nongenuine installation.  As you can see in the snippet above, the mgadiag utility is showing that the Product Key used to install Microsoft Publisher 2002 is genuine.  However, the license for this installation of Microsoft Publisher 2002 is also a Volume License (as shown by the PID and PID Type reported above:  ><Pid>54197-640-0000025-16365</Pid><PidType>14</PidType>), and since you do not have a current and valid Volume Licensing Agreement to run Microsoft Publisher 2002, your usage of Microsoft Publisher 2002, regardless of whether the Product Key is Genuine or not, is a nongenuine usage.  The fact that the Product Key for Microsoft Publisher 2002 is still Genuine means that the organization that originally purchased the Volume License for that Microsoft Publisher 2002 Product Key is still in Good Standing with their Volume Licensing Agreement.  That Product Key is rightfully their Product Key, and no one else's.  Volume Licensing keys cannot be sold when the computer is sold.

    Your separate installation of Microsoft Office Outlook 2002 is a Genuine OEM installation.
