Windows 7 Build 7601 This copy of windows is not genuine

Question
-
I have a laptop running Windows 7 Enterprise N; I subscribe to Technet and this was downloaded from your site along with the key in November 2009. A hard disk failure meant that I reinstalled it in October this year. Recently, it has started reporting it is not genuine. When I attempt to register, it fails with error 0x8007007B.
I have run sfc /scannow which found no problems. The Software Protection Service is set to Automatic (Delayed Start) and is running.
Regards
Andrew

This is not Microsoft so you did not download anything here. This is a user to user self help forum hosted by Microsoft for the convenience of Windows users.
You are using a volume license key
Windows Product ID Type: 1
Windows License Type: KMS Clientand need to contact the KMS administrator at the organization from which you obtained this key. KMS keys need to be activated on the owning organization's servers.

It doesn't matter where you got it from if you are not entitled to use it.
A KMS License requires a KMS Server for activation - unless you have that, then you cannot activate the license, and the installation will become non-genuine.
As far as I am aware, TechNet Licenses are either MAK or Retail type, not KMS.
Check the Key again in your TechNet account - and ensure that you are using the proper one.

Ah thanks, wasn't aware of that,

It is volume licensed, yes, but as I said, I obtained both the software and the key directly from Microsoft. There is an error when I attempt to activate W7 with the organization from which I obtained the key, which is Microsoft.
