    I had a Vista validation problem (despite a genuine factory installed copy of Vista) but solved it by removing some proprietary PC parental control software called User Time Control Center (published at http://www.1securitycenter.com/).  This should be added to the Microsoft list of WGA "baddies"

    I have had exactly the same problem. And the same solution.
    After installing this software, Vista detected that a unauthorized licence modification was done. Too bad.
