Live meeting internal/external link RRS feed

  • Question

  • This really confuses me...

Live meeting internally uses a non http link to have users join into a conference...

How would someone externally access this URL ? I know you have to use a reverse proxy but how does that work with http ??

    confusing as ____....

  • First off, reverse proxy is not required to utilize Live Meeting externally, it only allows for shared-content download.  Users can still connect, use Audio/Video, and share applications/desktops.

Also, the 'Join the Meeting' link included in the email invitation works wheter the user is internal or external.  The URL (e.g. meet:sip:jschertz@domain.com;gruu;opaque=app...) is used and whether the workstation is internal or external should use DNS SRV lookup to locate the OCS Server and connect.  If you do not have external SRV records for the Access Edge FQDN and an external A record published for the Web Conferencing FQDN then anonymous access to Live MEetings will no work.  Only Manually Configured corporate clients would be able to locate the services at that point.

  • Thanks Jeff...this clears things quite a bit.

We have internal SRV records for live meeting and internal users are able to connect fine...

It just seems weird to have a URL like that for live meeting and conferences....but I guess thats the way everyone is doing it...
