Configuring Multiple Sync Directions RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a number of sync tables which are 1 way to client or server, and 2 way.

The only place I think this can be set is when the Sync takes place - in the syncOrchestrator.

This means that the tracking tables/triggers are created on both server/client when provisioned even though they may not be needed on the client in the case of Server 1 way download.

How can I get around this?

BTW I'm using SQL Server and SQL Express

Answers

  • yes, the SyncDirection for the SqlSyncProvider/SqlCeSyncProvider is at the scope level unlike with the SqlCeClientSyncProvider/DbServerSyncProvider which is at the table level.

  • Sync Fx will create all the Sync Fx related objects regardless of the Sync Direction.

  • OK.  So if I have tables for Download and some for Upload will they have to go in 2 scopes?
