Sandbox workflow cannot execute more than 2 minutes in CRM 2011 RRS feed

  • Hi,

    I am working on a custom workflow which generates and prints a custom SSRS report in background via 2008 R2 report service.  Generating a report in background take a lot of time.  Meantime, I have to register the custom workflow dll in Sandbox mode because I am not allowed to publish plugin and workflow in Live CRM in None mode.  That's why I get the error: The plug-in execution failed because the operation has timed-out at the Sandbox Client.  Is there anyway I can set time-out on the fly somewhere in code allowing execution more than 2 minutes, assuming I can't change registry Key, web config, IIS setting in Live CRM server.  Thanks.

  • plugin, both synchronous and asynchronous have a 2 minute limit after which it times out. You have to take your long running process out of the plugin.

  • You are onpremise, you can register your custom workflow activity outside the sandbox. However as Jitesh wrote, it's better to avoid long running processes inside plugins/workflows
