Started getting not Genuine Message a couple days ago RRS feed

  • Question

  • Below are my MSADiag results.  I know my version is genuine.  I had a corrupted DLL file C:\Windows\System32\d3d10_1.dll after a check disk that I replaced with one of my co-workers a couple days ago.  I don't know if that might have caused the problem.  If so I can replace it with the one off our company's install CDs if that will fix it.  I took the URLs out of the data below because it wouldn't let me post with them in it.

    Thanks

  • In that case, your problem is almost certainly a race condition - often caused by over-eager AV software, or malware (or both).

What AV are you using? what other AV's have ever been installed on this machine?

  • There's no problems that I can see in your report - it's showing as activated, and last validated on 22nd Oct.

Was the notification showing when you ran the tool? Is the notification still showing?

  • It wasn't showing when I ran the tool I had already closed it out.  The notification popped up when I booted Windows.  I haven't had a chance to reboot again to see if it comes back up.
