Software Explorer with Live OneCare RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is there a way to run the Software Explorer control panel on Vista systems also running Live OneCare without getting the Windows Defender disabled message. Software Explorer is very convenient for enabling, disabling, and removing startup programs and managing add-ons without going into the system registry.

It would be a great help and system improvement to allow this component of Windows Defender to continue to operate normally or even to add the Software Explorer functionality directly into the Live OneCare feature set.

  • I have to wonder why this hasn't yet been incorporated into OneCare somehow. In the meantime, the only way to run it is to launch Defender, enable it, run software explorer as desired, and then disable Defender again or let OneCare disable it on reboot.
