Auto-run Communicator 2007 after the GPO deployment RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello to everyone!

I have a question. In our company we decided to deploy Office Communicator 2007 to all the users.
I have set up this GPO to work with HKLM. After the deployment you must run the communicator manually for the first time, and after that the program starts everytime you reboot the pc. Is there any other way that we would not need to open the program manually for the first time, because I would like to, that right after the deployment the program starts automatically on first login of the user.

I would be very happy if you have any step-by-step manual for this case.

    Thanks

  • Have you tried this Registry Key
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce

This is supposed to auto start the program when the user logs in

  • hi
Per your description, you want to deploy the ocs client by the GPO.
You can use GPO to deploy the OCS client msi setup file.
And you can also use GPO to set the client to automatically run the OCS client when the computer is started.
I think it is a issue about how to use the GPO deploy software, you can refer to below link to get more detail procedure.
