Could someone please explain to me the totally arbitrary way that Live Mesh seems to run relative to the logging on process. I have two system sitting next to each other. One cannot login at all – Live Mesh reports: “Unable to connect to Live Mesh. Please check your connectivity.” While the other system is up and running just fine. On the first system that wants me to check the connectivity, I can use IE or Firefox and login to Live Mesh without a problem. If there is something wrong with my network, while do the browsers work OK but Live Mesh does not? I just cannot comprehend this arbitrary nature of the program. Either it works or it’s broken. It worked great this morning when I started up my systems. What’s happened in the mean time?
I wouldn't call that arbitrary, but a problem of some sort on that PC. Have you reviewed this post for How to Submit Bugs and Live Mesh Logs from the top of the forum? What firewall are you running on that PC? Perhaps Live Mesh client is being inhibited by a firewall setting? -steveMicrosoft MVP Windows Live / Windows Live OneCare Forum Moderator

Thanks for your comments. They are very much appreciated. Yes, I have submitted problem reports with log reports before. I did verify that my Windows firewall is allowing Live Mesh through. That doesn't seem to be the problem. To underscore what I referred to as the arbitrary nature of the program, as of the moment I am writing this post, all of my systems are available and visible from my Live Mesh "blue eye" in the system tray. I had some admin work to do and had to log off and back on with my accounts and now it seems to be just great. Go figure! ?!.
One moment everything is yellow ! and unknown devices, the next everything is On-line and Available. It's almost like there is on 1 bit setting ON, a 0 bit setting OFF and a third X bit setting DO EITHER, NEITHER, or BOTH. At the moment, anyway, I am a happy camper.
