Mobile page - how to get back to it if you press desktop view? RRS feed

  • Question

  • So I goofed awhile ago and I tapped "View desktop page" on my Samsung Focus while on the WHS2011 web page and the for life of me I can not get back to it.

I have the shortcut on my phone saved as http://myservername.homeserver.com and no matter what I try, I can't see the mobile phone friendly login page.  I've added a /m or a /mobile on there and it is still the desktop page.

I do have the app installed for WHS2011, but this is driving me nuts as it has to be so simple and staring me in the face.

History, cookies, temp files and such have been deleted numerous times from both the settings page within IEmobile and then from the settings menu itself with IEmobile closed.

  • I type in:

    https://myservername.homeserver.com/Remote/m and it resolves to:

    https://myservername.homeserver.com/Remote/logon?ReturnUrl=%2fremote

but that's also the same as when I log in using a PC.

  • Strange - works on mine. I did exactly what you did during WHS RC testing and this was my solution.

  • I have read elsewhere that this is the fix as well.  I didn't do anything funky with my WHS2011 webpages, it's all stock except for the background and icon I added via the dashboard.

When you access your remote page on your mobile, what is the URL?

    EDIT

I used my wife's iPhone 3GS to access the page and typed the exact same URL from there in to my Samsung Focus and I still get the desktop view instead of the mobile page.  I guess the lesson here is never click the "View desktop version" link on your phone!

After looking at each letter in my shortcut and comparing it to your post, I noticed my shortcut had http instead of https.

Thank you for your time Phil, I have the fast loading page on my mobile again!
