  • Question

  • Vista has worked for the last two years and now I am getting messages that it is not valid.

    I typed http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012

    Selected Run

    Selected continue

When I try to copy the results I get "failed to create output files, hr = 0x8007000d.  Please contact support.

All that error message means is that for some reason it couldn't save the output to the hard drive - it should still copy and paste fine into your response.

  • It would not copy nor paste.

I reinstalled a previous bios update and now windows is valid again.  The problem seems to be resolved for today.  Thanks

Please post a new MGADiag report - hitting the Copy button won't do anything obvious (except possibly produce that error message you saw), but Pasting should still work.

To properly analyse and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool (download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
    Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.
To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.

  • If you are unable or unwilling to post a Diagnostic Report there is little we can do for you on the forums.  You can, instead, contact Microsoft Assisted support at one of the below urls.
