hi there, i just bought a new toshiba laptop that comes with vista. I was just wondering, how do I downgrade it to xp since vista uses a lot of memory plus all the software I use is not compatible with vista, so its like there's no point of buying a new machine since i cant do my work anyway. i am student and i really hope you could help me out. Thank you.

  • 1.  Check with Toshiba support to see if Windows XP is supported on your new laptop.

    2.  Purchase a "Full Version" of Windows XP.

    3.  Perform a "Clean Install" of Windows XP.

  • I am frustrated because I have had a similar experience including having my laptop crash and having to ship to HP Tech Support. I should not have to purchase XP, I was not given a choice as to whether  or not I wanted Vista. Now I have a new lap top that crashes frequently because Vista boggs it down. Quite a racket!
