Office Outlook IT Pro forum, breadcrumbs show as Office 2010 Beta (Archive) ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • It doesn't seem to affect navigation, but it's weird that the OL forum shows as Beta.
    Can this be fixed?

  • Yes, it looks odd.

The Forum "Outlook IT Pro Discussions" forum lives in both the "Microsoft Office" category and the "Microsoft Office 2010 beta (archive) forums" category.

So, showing either category in that breadcrumb is technically correct.  Ideally, both of the categories in which that forum exists should appear at the top of the forums list and be expanded, which would make it clearer that the forum exists in both categories.  Also ideally, the category that appears highest in the forums list should also be the one shown in the thread breadcrumbs.

We can follow up with the forum owner in the Office team to see whether it makes sense to remove that forum from one or the other of those categories.  If appropriate, that would be the simplest way to clarify which category breadcrumb to present.

  • Thanks Doug.
I think removing the OL IT Pro forum from the "Office 2010 Beta (Archive)" category would make the most sense.
Hopefully the forum owner agrees :)
