Joining 2 CRM Databases RRS feed

  • Question

  •

We have 2 CRM 4.0 databases. What is the best way to join the 2 databases?

(Also, is it possible to join CRM 3.0 database into CRM 4.0 database?)

    Thank you

  • I'm currently working out a concept for a customer. I proposed to do an upgrade of one of the environments and then use Scribe (http://www.scribesoft.com) to import the other database. I think you could also rely on Data Migration Manager and use exports from views as source files. If I'm not wrong, this last one could also create new attributes if they don't exist already in the system.

  • also, if you have 4.0 Enterprise, you can load both databases into the same CRM environment as different organizations.  This does not join them into one database; however, it would eliminate the need to have two different server environments.

  • It depends what you mean by 'join'. From an integration perspective you have the filtered views and the SDK, the rest is code.
